People Manager
Permanent, Full-Time, Hybrid (typically >60% per week)

We help improve the experience and outcomes of cancer treatment by building medical devices that enable treatment from cancer patients' homes.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and positive people manager to join our team, who is comfortable with change, has a desire to learn new things and enjoys seeing others develop.
What you’ll do:
- Work with line managers and product team leader to make sure that individuals across the company have the right skills and resources to achieve their goals
- Ensure team members have progression opportunities that benefit both the individual and the company’s mission
- Ensure team members are fairly remunerated and have benefits that are truly valued
- Support the management and planning team to ensure key information is being effectively communicated
- Oversee the development of plans for recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, offboarding, succession planning and support teams with the implementation of these plans
- Promote equality, diversity, health and safety with the company
- Ensure the collection of wellbeing metrics to inform what we prioritise
- Ensure company policies and procedures are relevant, up to date and comply with local regulations
- Handle any disciplinary processes and formal grievances with support from the management team
- Support Payroll
You must have:
- Experience working in tech startups in an people role
- Good communication skills, happy to present to the whole company, ability to build relationships across the organisation
- Experience managing and resolving issues and working with external or internal HR personnel
- Have experience working with remote and matrix structured organisations (work is generally delivered through product teams rather than via our line management structure)
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with proven ability to prioritise the most valuable activities
- Experience of using tech solutions optimally to build an efficient people function
- An ability to balance individual needs against the wider teams
- Focus and ability to prioritise tasks
- Honest and constructive approach to delivering feedback
- Ability to find ways to automate processes
Good to have (but not essential)
- A degree
- HR qualifications (e.g. CIPD)
