 Software Engineering Manager 

Permanent, Full Time, Remote.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a small team of software engineers, including undertaking their career development, regular one-to-ones, coaching, and pastoral care
  • Build a brand new web application that helps clinicians manage and monitor patients virtually
  • Use your expertise to influence our tech stack; optimising for sustainable velocity
  • Define best practice for software development across the full lifecycle
  • Design, develop, test, review, and debug software for front-end and back-end systems
  • Oversee the software development process to ensure quality, reliably products
  • Manage and enhance existing software products 
  • Maintain software quality throughout the complete product lifecycle
  • Help maintain and cultivate the Entia’s positive culture

You must have:

  • Previous experience of having line managed a team, or of having coached or mentored more junior staff
  • Strong knowledge of systems design, within a modern cloud-based environment (AWS, GCP)
  • Proficiency with our chosen web stack: PostgreSQL, Python (Django), React, Typescript, GraphQL or similar web technologies
  • Experience with MQTT, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar (pub/sub) messaging technologies
  • Proficiency using Docker for development, testing, and deployments
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver high quality software in a startup environment
  • Knowledge of software design, development and documentation practices
  • Excellent knowledge of version control, CI
  • A bachelor's degree in embedded systems, computer engineering, computer science (or a related field), or equivalent industrial experience

Good to have:

  • Previous experience of having worked in a startup environment
  • Familiarity with working in a agile project environment
  • Previous experience developing ISO:27001-compliant software
